If you’ve pledged never to grow up, get old, and get boring be sure to catch Brisbane indie punk band The Strums at TheGRID Sound on Friday 31 July.
Their catchy new single Baby I’m An Adolescent is fast gathering interest from Triple J and 4ZZZ and was mixed by Alex Markwell (The Delta Riggs) and mastered by Brian Lucey (The Arctic Monkeys, The Black Keys). With its defiant lyrics of “I won’t grow up, get old and get boring” and rock and roll sound this high impact track appeals to the teenager in all of us.
Loud and fast paced, The Strums have played with the likes of the Baby Animals, The Vernons, Wolfmother, The Bennies and Caffeine. They will be joined on the night by local rockers Project 62 and one of Toowoomba’s newest bands, psychedelic funk fusioneers The Mystik Crystal Witches.
Describing themselves as “three best mates playing punk rock together” and citing their interests as “having a rad time” The Strums definitely promise a fun, high energy show for Toowoomba music enthusiasts, at one of Toowoomba’s best music venues.
Doors open at 8:30pm, entry is $10 and the show is all ages/licensed. Cash bar only (with ID).
