Pub Choir at Blank Space – Friday 4 May
If you have ever sung The Horses at the top of your lungs with a group of mates at a wedding or a bar or a party then you already know what Pub Choir is all about. It’s a group of people getting together to sing! The concept started in Brisbane and is now heading up the range for the first time. You don’t find out the song until 24 hours before the event. It’s $10 to attend, part of this fee goes towards attaining the legal rights to the song. Head to the Facebook event to RSVP and find out more details.
Ruby Greats Luncheon – Friday 4 May
The Federal is bringing Matt Giteau, Lote Tuqiri and Ben Perkins to town. Go for a fun Friday lunch and hear from these ex-Wallabies, while also helping to raise funds for local soup kitchens. The Curve Ball – Saturday 5 May
This black-tie charity ball raises funds for someone who has received a life curve-ball and needs help swinging back, in addition to a chosen charity. The 2018 Curve Ball will be held in Queens Park. Movie under the stars – Sing at the City Golf Club – Sunday 6 May
Head to the Golf Club to watch the cute family movie Sing for free. BYO picnic blanket or chairs, there will be some BBQ food, popcorn and drinks available to buy. It’s on at 6.30pm. RSVP on Facebook.
Gig: Thirsty Merc at Highfields Tavern – Thursday 10 May
The Thirsty Merc Take Me Back Tour is coming to Highfields. It’s an 18+ gig and tickets are $29.60.
Mother’s Day High Tea and Fashion Parade at Gips – Saturday 12 May
Support the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation and Breast Screen and have a great day out with your mum. The event starts at 9.30 and goes until 12. Tickets are $45, purchase them on the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation website.
Mother’s Day Classic – Sunday 13 May
The annual event that raises funds for breast cancer research and washes our streets in pink is back. This year’s event offers a 3km walk and a 5km run starting in Queens Park. Register now at mothersdayclassic.com.au
Hampton Festival – Sunday 20 May
One of region’s favourite festivals is back again. The main event is on Sunday 20 May at Chapman Park. You should also book now to not miss out on the Farmers La Femme a Celebration of High Country Produce Dinner at Emeraude at Hampton on Friday 18 May.
Saturday 19 May brings eight awesome workshops to try including fermenting, floral workshops and beer and cheese matching. Make sure you book for those too. There’s also a Taste of the Region Gourmet Lunch at Reflections at Lake Cooby on Saturday. The festival itself will have cooking demos, an art exhibition and delicious food. Dine Darling Downs Lunch Club – Friday 25 May
Welcome to the events calendar Lunch Club! The first event of its kind will see you sipping on champagne at The Office before jumping on a bus and heading out to Emeraude at Hampton to be treated to a special three course tasting menu. League Legends Dinner – Friday 25 May
The Federal is bringing it home for sporting dinners and lunches this month. This one will see Petero Civoniceva and Wendell Sailor visit to tell us a few stories. Espressway to Yr Skull – Espresso Martini Festival – Friday 25 May
Toowoomba loves a highly specific drink festival! Go celebrate the drink that’s designed to wake you up at our first Espresso Martini Festival (at Blank Space of course). Stepping Out Winter Glamour Runway 2018 – Saturday 26 May
Rumours International is the venue for this night of fashion, showcasing all there is to offer in Toowoomba from indie boutiques to big brands. Funds raised will support St Andrew’s Hospital. You can choose a VIP ticket for $100 and have access to premier seating and pre show drinks, or a general admission ticket for $50 each. Buy your tickets on trybooking.com

Raising funds for domestic and family violence charities this event promises to be a spectacular evening. Glennie High Tea – Sunday 27 May
Get fancy and head to Glennie for one of two high tea sittings which will include champagne on arrival, gourmet treats and freshly brewed tea. You’ll have access to a boutique market and a multi-draw raffle. The morning sitting is 10am and the afternoon is 2pm. Tables of eight are available and tickets are $45 per person.
