Ready, steady, cook!
It’s happening! Celebrity chef Alastair McLeod will visit Grand Central next month to share his love of food with Toowoomba locals.
Grand Central Centre Manager Kathleen Hart said the centre was excited to be bringing Mr McLeod to town.
“Alastair has an enthusiasm for all things food that is infectious. We’re thrilled he’s coming to Grand Central to share his knowledge and his love of food with our customers,” she said.
“He will be conducting three unique cooking demonstrations on Saturday March 17. People will need to book in to these sessions, but there is no cost to attend.
“It’s a great opportunity to join Alastair as he creates his favourite Autumn dishes, using fresh produce from Grand Central’s Market Room, and to pick up some handy hints.
“Grand Central will also provide take home recipe cards and shopping lists to fuel people’s culinary inspiration.”
Alastair is best known for his roles on Network 10’s Ready, Steady, Cook and Channel 7’s Great Day Out, and he’s a Lockyer Valley food ambassador too.
The cooking demonstrations will be held near Grand Central’s Market Room on Level 1. You can go to one session, or all of them.
Cooking demonstrations to be held are:
- 10.00am – Salmon Brandade & Irish Soda Bread
- 11.30am – Peppered Flatiron of Beef, Charred Broccoli and Horseradish Cream
- 2.00pm – Smoky Irish Whiskey Pork Belly with Cucumber, Pomegranate and Feta Salad
