It’s here!
Today the next stage in Grand Central’s $500 million transformation will be revealed, delivering the biggest names in Australian retail under the one roof for excited Toowoomba shoppers.
Around 30 new stores, including Kmart, Big W and Woolworths will open today, along with other highly anticipated stores like Betty’s Burgers and Guzman y Gomez. Many other new stores will follow in the coming days and weeks – including some that are relocating from the existing centre.
And there are so many opening specials – you just have to download this nine page PDF to see them all for yourself! Our favourites out of the lot include:
- Free burritos at GyG from 12-7 today
- Free cupcakes, facepainting, balloons and gift bags from Kmart
- Gift cards for the first 200 customers from Woolies
- Free underarm laser hair removal from Laser Clinics Australia
- A special appearance from the King, Wally Lewis at Big W on Saturday (11-1)
Grand Central Centre Manager Shaine Beveridge said it’s the first time in Toowoomba’s history that some of the biggest names in Australia retail will be under one roof.
“Big brands Kmart, Big W, Woolworths. Best&Less and City Beach will be opening their doors, as will an extended range of specialty stores and fast casual dining options,” he said.
“Additional car parking, accessible via Victoria, Little and Duggan Streets, will provide the best access to the new stores,” he said.
“The opening of Stage Two is a very exciting time for Grand Central and the Toowoomba community — and there’s still plenty more to come.”
Grand Central will celebrate the opening of Stage Two with activities, special offers and giveaways from today through to Sunday. ‘Gigs at GC’ also makes a return, with live music throughout the centre to add to the celebratory atmosphere.
“We’re looking forward to bringing the community together and celebrating this next stage — with something for everyone,” Mr Beveridge said.
Kmart, Big W and Woolworths will run special offers from today, including giveaways for their first customers, face painting, in-store discounts and more.
The retailers confirmed for Stage Two include Kmart, Big W, Woolworths, Best&Less, Guzman Y Gomez, Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co., Schnitz, Sushi Sushi, Rozzi’s Italian Canteen, The Lolli Shop, Zing Pop Culture, Jimmy Rod’s Barbershop, Laser Clinics Australia, a second Just Cuts salon, a larger, new-look City Beach, and many more.
Additional parking will be available from March 29 – access via Victoria, Little and Duggan Streets. These new car parking spaces will provide best access to Kmart, Big W and Woolworths.
Victoria Street, between Little and Margaret Streets, will reopen to two-way traffic on March 29.
