Exclusive high-end fashion, local style leaders and live entertainment – get set for a runway event to rival any other at the City Heart Fashion Event on Friday 25 September.
Featuring the best of what’s current for the spring/summer season, the City Heart Fashion Event will showcase collections from only local boutiques and retailers.
“…labels you can find in Sydney or Melbourne – they’re all here in Toowoomba, you don’t have to go anywhere else to find great style.”
Event organisers from the City Heart team Christine Coorey and Judi Mitchell said the talent sourced for the event were all locally and privately owned businesses, with a reputation for hand picking first class stylish stock.
“These boutiques look after their customers and often work one-on-one to bring them exclusive designs,” said Judi. “They bring something different to what you find in a franchised store. It’s labels you can find in Sydney or Melbourne – they’re all here in Toowoomba, you don’t have to go anywhere else to find great style.”
Christine said guests can expect to be excited by a fun, edgy and high quality runway presentation, choreographed by local modelling agency guru Kaye Foley. But she didn’t want to give too many style secrets away before the event.
“You can expect to see the best of what each boutique has,” said Christine. “It will feature lifestyle, after five, clubwear, swimwear, men’s fashion and something for tweens.
“We’re very fortunate to have local hat millner Rae Copeland involved – her designs will be on the runway and in a static display and there’s going to be amazing bridal designs from Carolyn Taylor Smith, but I don’t want to tell you any more than that. We want people to come and look for themselves.”
As with all City Heart events, profits raised will go back into benefiting the community, with the Toowoomba Hospice Foundation named as the major beneficiary for the Fashion Event.
The event, which has been almost two years in the making, is the first of its kind for the City Heart group, and something they’re hoping becomes an annual mark on the calendar for Toowoomba.
All profits go to the Toowoomba Hospice Foundation.
Local talent involved includes Minx Contemporary Hair, Veraison, Kaye Foley Modelling Academy, Big Yak Creative, musicians Nathan and April Hitzke and Tiapye and designs from Bella Fille, Cinnamon Blue, Hannas, Ivy Designer Collections, NB Style, Oriri, Smoke and Mirrors, Carolyn Taylor Smith and Rae Copeland.
