The thing about having friends who are all pregnant at the same time is you hear a lot of baby talk.
And amidst the discussion of obstetricians, ultrasounds, and morning sickness, pregnant Toowoomba ladies talk about the lack of maternity clothing in our town.
Little Miracles Maternity Wear owner Kerri Brennan has heard this type of talk before too. That’s why her new business aims to fill this gap and help Toowoomba mums look and feel beautiful with her quality, affordable maternity range.
With over 500 pieces ranging in size from 6 to 24 Kerri offers pregnant and nursing mums fresh, modern and feminine style options. For Kerri, it’s all about helping women feel their best.
“Some women struggle with pregnancy,” she says. “Your body changes and you put weight on in different places, then it doesn’t go away straight away.
“I love helping someone who is feeling frumpy feel comfortable and attractive in my clothes.”
Her clothes may be comfortable but Kerri’s deliberately steering clear of stretchy and shapeless clothing typically found in stores. Expect to find brands like Angel Maternity, Eve of Eden and Ripe Maternity, with a general price range of $30 to $120.
“You won’t find yoga pants and only horizontal stripes,” she says. “We stock what the others don’t offer: pretty florals, colours and patterns, business wear, party dresses – something women can dress up and feel great in.
The range includes plenty of basics: jeans, shorts, t-shirts and knits, in addition to formal dresses, party and cocktail dresses, business wear, accessories and pantyhose. And while she doesn’t stock babywear, Kerri does offer feeding covers, baby blankets and handmade baptismal gowns.
Little Miracles Maternity Wear is currently available online via their Facebook page and in regular pop up shops hosted at 34 Harvey Street Toowoomba and in locations regularly advertised on Facebook. Like the Little Miracles Maternity Wear Facebook page to find out more.
