The Bungalow and Basket is dangerous for my wallet.
Not just a sweet spot to drink some tea and enjoy some treats, The Bungalow and Basket have a beautiful selection of homewares and gifts that practically beg me to take them home.
Jewellery, homewares, skin care and accessories line the shelves of this cosy space in the centre of the CBD, right next to the Bell St Mall. It’s all I can do to resist the artfully arranged displays whenever I’m waiting for my tea.
The Bungalow and Basket’s dedication to pretty things extends to their presentation of the food and beverages, with everything I’ve ever ordered always being delivered to me in an Instagram ready arrangement. As someone who’s an obnoxious food Instagrammer, I appreciate the attention to detail.
There’s limited seating inside, but outside the wicker chairs have luxurious sheepskin rugs draped over them to keep you warm and comfy while you enjoy your tea or coffee on a chilly day.
And, although the menu is limited it’s varied each week. Perhaps the most important day you could visit The Bungalow and Basket is Thursday – it’s been designated as ‘salted caramel day’ and a different sweet and salty caramel treat awaits you every Thursday.
There’s no shortage of coffee joints in Toowoomba, but with their carefully selected range of homewares and gifts The Bungalow and Basket stands out as providing just a little something different.
