Since opening in June this year TheGRID Sound has firmly established itself as the city’s top spot for all ages gigs, having brought a fresh mix of eclectic bands to Toowoomba.
And this weekend will see TheGRID finish off this year’s run of live shows with back-to-back nights of live music.
Former Toowoomba boys and rock superstars in the making Interim will be back to give local fans another taste of their Metanarratives EP on Friday 27 November. Their reputation for energetic live shows continue to grow this year, after sharing the stage with artists such as Dead Letter Opener, Breaking Orbit, Caligula’s Horse and more.
They’ll be joined by Gold Coast based suit and tie rockers Double Lined Minority, fresh off a national tour in support of their recent single Get Around, tight local blues rock quartet Mercury Sun and up and coming grunge rock band Tinted Sun.
Tickets for Friday’s massive all ages show can be purchased for $10 in advance from Try Booking or for $15 at the door, which opens at 7pm.
Then, things get a little unplugged on Saturday night when Lachy Lyne and Tim Edwards are joined by Through the Looking Glass, Michael Faber and James Ring for an indie and acoustic night. Tickets are $10 and available at the door, opening at 7pm.
These will be the final gigs at TheGRID for 2015. In just a few short month’s they’ve hosted a huge array of acts like The Astro Travellers, Street 66, Machine Age, Erin Fitzsimon, Smoking Martha, The Mystic Crystal Witches, Project 62, Ladi Abundance, The Astronaut Headdress, Baltimore Gun Club and many more, and injected a shot of fresh energy into Toowoomba’s live music scene.
