Popular with the working lunch crowd Urth Café offers a range of the usual favourites with a few interesting tweaks thrown in.
They’ve got the healthy situation under control, with options like the Chia Pot (chia seeds, organic coconut cream and honey with blueberries and toasted coconut) and a Roast Vegetable and Quinoa Salad.
But there’s also some hardcore carby comfort on the menu – check out the massive burger, Urth Nachos or Lasagne if you need some starch in your life.
If you like to play with your food the best bet is the Fish Tacos. They’re served all laid out on a board ready for you to make your own, which is fun for the control freaks among us. The Fish Taco’s crispy battered flathead works beautifully with the zesty avo salsa. It’s not a traditional fish taco but it is delicious, and a refreshingly different option you don’t usually see on Toowoomba menus.
And, with a cabinet full of sweets to tempt you, Urth Café is a great spot to pull up a stool, order something yum and read the many papers and mags they have hanging around. They close at the super early time of 1pm on a Saturday and Sunday and 3pm during the week, so don’t wait ‘til too long in the day get hungry and get in there.
