It’s a quieter month for events here in Toowoomba but if you’d like to venture out of your snuggie you can check these situations out.
State of Origin at Fitzy’s – Wednesday 1 June and Wednesday 22 June
Like to yell at the TV during Origin with lots of people around? Head to Fitzy’s, they’re putting the series up on the big screen, with game day food and drink specials.
Gig: Thelma Plum – Saturday 4 June
Thelma Plum has been writing some unromantic breakup songs and she wants you to hear them. Show is at The Spotted Cow, tickets are $20 pre-sale, $25 at the door. There’s also a bunch of other gigs in Toowoomba in June and you can head to this Toowoomba Living story to see them all.
Sit Down Comedy at Tapestry Bar – Thursday 16 June
Here from Brisbane to make us laugh are Jimmy Poulos and Mike Van Acker. The show starts at 8pm and tickets are $25. Head to the Facebook event for details on how to purchase.
Theatre: Wuthering Heights – Friday 10 June
Get all moody with Heathcliffe and co in this shake & stir and QPAC production at the Empire Theatre. Only for one night, the performance also includes a Q&A after the show. Adult tickets are $43.
Entries close for Heritage Bank Photographic Awards – Thursday 30 June
With a theme of “promises” this year’s Heritage Bank Photographic Awards offers amateur photographers the chance to have their work seen by thousands. There’s some great prizes on offer, including cash, and approximately 50 images will be framed for exhibition at USQ. Enter before June 30 to be in it to win it.
Brisbane: Out of the Box Festival – Tuesday 21 June to Tuesday 28 June
Out of the Box is all about the kids! If you’re eight years and under you’ll love the different events including the Gazillion Bubble Show, dancing workshops and the Snow4Kids Park. Times and prices vary so go to the website for more information.
