Theatre: It all begins with love – Friday 13 November
At this moment 76 women have been killed in Australia by violence this year. Dealing with domestic violence and family abuse the theatre production It All Begins With Love, showing this Friday night at the Empire Theatre comes at an important time. The production shows the issues that victims of violence deal with and includes a community Q&A session facilitated by a professional counsellor. Tickets are $10 from the Empire Theatre.
Brewoomba – Saturday 14 November
It’s all about the beer at Brewoomba 2015. Craft beer pubs Mort Estate, the Spotted Cow and Tapestry bar have joined forces for a day-long beer spectacular! For $30 ($35 on the day) you’ll get your first beer free at each pub and unlimited access to shuttle buses between the three venues. Beers from all over the land and beyond will be on tap. It’ll be a big day starting at 12pm (they’re even busing people in from Brisbane) so clean your beer goggles and line that stomach before your first sip!
Slamiversary – Saturday 14 November
The Toowoomba City Rollers celebrate five years of roller derby this Saturday with a grudge match against original rivals the Northern Brisbane Rollers. There’ll be juniors on debut, stalls, raffles and food available. Doors open at 2pm at the Clive Berghofer Centre and the after party is at the Cube. Feather and Lawry Gallery ‘Relaunch’ Opening Weekend – Saturday 14-Sunday 15 November
From 11am to 3pm each day this weekend check out Toowoomba’s newest home to art at the Feather and Lawry Gallery opening. With artists including Laura Douglas, Kendall and Dylan Jones it will be a diverse collection for art lovers. At 4 Russell St Toowoomba.
Toowoomba Writers’ Festival – Saturday 14 November
Signings, Q&As and workshops, it’s all happening at the Toowoomba Writers’ Festival this Saturday. Authors appearing include Antonia Hildebrand and Sean Crawley. Some workshops need to be booked in advance, see online for more details.

The Royal Croquet Club – Friday 6-Sunday 22 November
Go a little Alice in Wonderland and visit the Royal Croquet Club’s creative playground at the Cultural Forecourt at South Bank this month.
