Free: That Sugar Film – Tuesday 9 June
Underbelly and Puberty Blues star Damon Gameau pulls a super size me with That Sugar Film, a doco that proves something we all knew: too much sugar is not a good thing. The twist in Damon’s diet experiment is he eats only “healthy” foods like museli bars and yoghurt. It’s presented in an easily digestible palette, which includes bright colours, quirky special effects and Hugh Jackman. Worth a look, even if it’s just for the Mountain Dew dentist scene. If you see it, you’ll know what I mean.
The film’s playing at Empire Theatres, 6.30pm and will be followed by a Q&A with Sweet Poison author David Gillespie. The event is hosted by Shine Lawyers, visit their website shine.com.au/sugar to get your free ticket.
And down the road in Brisbane…
