Big Brekky to help the Homeless – Wednesday 2 August
Get up early for a good cause and have brekky with Tony and Lisa Clark, founders and designers of the Backpack Bed. All funds raised will go to supporting Toowoomba’s Basement Soup Kitchen. Muller Bros First Birthday – Friday 4 – Sunday 6 August
Toowoomba’s only rooftop bar is having a long weekend of fun to celebrate their first birthday. If you have souvenired one of their copper cups over this first year you can return it no questions asked and get a free drink between 4pm and 6pm on Friday 4 August. Saturday night will be the 90s project – the best of 90s music performed live and Sunday is a brunch-o-rama. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for other birthday announcements.

Brewoomba – Saturday 5 August
Beeeeer. The third Brewoomba is set to be a banger, with four different venues on board this year. Get yourself a ticket and you’ll get FOUR free beers, one at each venue: The Spotted Cow, Tapestry Bar, Blank Space at the Mill Precinct and the Church Street Carpark at Fitzys. Heroes and Villains Run/Walk – Sunday 13 August
Be good, be bad, it doesn’t matter as long as you move. The Toowoomba Hospital Foundation is inviting everyone to dress up as their favourite hero or villain and run 5km or walk 2km. Event starts at the Toowoomba Anglican Prep School at 9am. You can bring your good boys and girls too, as long as you bring a doggie bag to clean up after them. $10 per person or $20 for a family ticket, get your tickets at TryBooking.

After Dark: Science Fusion at Cobb + Co Museum – Friday 18 August
Even though science has failed us because we don’t have hoverboards, go celebrate it anyway during National Science Week with a night time adventure at our Cobb + Co Museum. You can create a hologram, ask science experts questions and learn about robots. Tickets are $15 for this all ages event, bookings essential.
Bites and Beats and Super Hero Dress Up Party – Saturday 19 August
The Original Mix is hosting the next twilight Bites and Beats party, at Brothers Leagues Club at Glenvale. There will be 50 food and market stalls, live music, lawn games and kids activities – including an awesome Super Hero Dress Up Party. Dress your kids (or you) up as their favourite super hero. Batman will be there, plus a jumping castle, face painting and other themed games. From 4pm to 9pm.
Big Night Out at Blank Space – Saturday 19 August
Help Toowoomba’s own cancer wellness centre open its doors. The new Hope Horizons is hosting a long table fundraising dinner at Blank Space at the Mills Precinct. There will be a live band, two course feasting menu and four hours of drinks. Hope Horizons aims to offer services like psychology, exercise physiology, oncology massage and more to help people who have been diagnosed and are living with cancer.
