Hand Made Under the Stars – Thursday 1 December
Cobb and Co’s annual artisan Christmas market is back. From 4pm to 8pm you can shop up a storm with some of our best local makers, including Little Deer Studio, Positively Organic Skincare, Wonders of the Volcano and Silver Mimi & Co. Free entry, there’ll be food, wine and live music too.
Top Drawer Toowoomba – Friday 2 December
Walton Stores is the venue for the launch event of a new brand dedicated to showcasing our local designers. It will be a Christmas shopping event featuring champagne and canapés. Tickets to the launch are $55. After opening night there will be a pop up shop available Saturday 9am – 5pm, Sunday 10am – 3pm and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9am – 5pm. Find more here.
Bush Christmas – Friday 2 to Sunday 11 December
The 20th Bush Christmas Exhibition is on at the Masonic Hall, 58 Neil Street and will feature including artworks, sculpture, gourmet food, jewellery, fashion accessories, homewares, books and toys as well as Christmas cakes, puddings and festive treats. Bridging the gap between country and city, the collection has been has been hand picked for superior creativity, workmanship and quality of product. The exhibition will be open from 9am to 6pm with late night shopping on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Admission is free.
Christmas Wonderland – Saturday 3 to Saturday 24 December
The Botanical Gardens in Queens Park is set to light up! From Saturday 3 December Christmas Wonderland will again transform Toowoomba, offering a BBQ each evening, ice-creams for kids, nightly entertainment, face painting and balloon animals. It’s a gold coin donation at entry.
Colliers Family Fun Day – Sunday 4 December
Smithfield Park in Gascony St will host jumping castles, face painting, a mechanical surf board, three lane giant slide, a petting zoo and more for this free family fun day. Find the event on Facebook.
4GR Mayoral Carols By Candlelight – Sunday 4 December
Food, rides, fireworks and singing! It’s the annual Mayoral Carols by Candlelight and it’s on in Lower Queen’s Park with food and rides for kids from 4pm, pre-show entertainment from 5.30pm. Council also has a calendar of Christmas events across the region you can access here.
The Lunch to Leave No-One Behind – Friday 9 December
Hosted at Muller Bros (#yaaaschurrasco) this lunch will raise funds for the Rural & Remote Mental Health organisation. It will include a panel discussion, raffle and auction. The $65 price includes a welcome drink and lunch. Book your tickets and find out more via the Facebook event.
Friday Nite Bites – Friday 9 December
Satisfy that festive hunger with the latest Friday Nite Bites event, to be held at Walton Stores from 4pm. If the food doesn’t get you there the live entertainment and Christmas lights will. Find out more on Facebook.
Festive Twilight Markets – Saturday 10 December
Special mention to The Original Mix who are back with a twilight market this month in Frog’s Hollow. It will hold all the usual good stuff, plus a few quirky fun things like a paper plane competition and a festive star weaving workshop. It’s Eat St vibe this time around so bring your picnic blanket and munch out on the cuisine that will be available. Find out more on Facebook.
Clever Children’s Family Fun Day Out – Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 December
These two big days at the Showgrounds will include markets, free face painting, balloons, jumping castles, colouring-in and more. There’ll be live singing and dancing audition events – so you can go along and find out who will be the next Clever Children’s Performers. It’s $6 per adult per day and free for children under 12. Giggle and Hoot’s Magical Christmas – Sunday 11 December
This musical spectacular features the whole gang: Jimmy Giggle, Hoot, Hootabelle, Gigglefangs, Pirate Hootbeard and Hootoclaws and his singing and dancing Elves. It’s on at 11am and all tickets are $34.90. Children 18 months and younger are free on laps. It’s on at the Empire Theatre, visit their website for the deets.
New Year’s Eve Fireworks – Saturday 31 December
Bye, bye 2016. Say it with fireworks in Frog’s Hollow, Queens Park. Festivities will kick off at 5pm, including free rides, games, prizes, circus acts and family entertainment. The fireworks display is on at 7.45pm.
