Toowoomba Fresh – Meet the Growers – Tuesday 2 October
Toowoomba Fresh in Grand Central will be hosting a ‘Meet The Growers’ event from 11am to 12 noon on 2 October, in conjunction with the launch of the stone fruit season.
Four of Kumbia’s finest growers will be in-store to meet shoppers and discuss the upcoming season, and will be able to give tips on how to grow beautiful stone fruit.
Toowoomba Fresh will also be showcasing a nectarine dish (partnering with Andrew’s Meats) and providing taste testing and recipe cards.
Plates for Paddocks – Friday 5 October
Show your support for Aussie farmers and have a bloody good time doing it at Plates for Paddocks at The Florence. Your ticket assists directly in the financial support of Australian rural families with all proceeds from the event being donated to the Rural Aid | Buy A Bale Drought Relief Fund.

Mexican Fiesta The Breast Night Ever with Samuel Johnson – Friday 5 October
From 6.30pm Blank Space is going to erupt into a riot of colour and fun in this special event that will bring Samuel Johnson from Love Your Sister to town. A two-course Mexican style meal plus a five-hour drink package awaits, as does live entertainment and a speech from Sam. The Lost Trades Fair – Saturday 6 to Sunday 7 October
Find inspiration, tradition and craftsmanship at one of the most authentic events in the country. At the Lost Trades Fair you have the chance to meet and watch career artisans practicing traditional trades, gain an insight into skilled manual work and see the craftsmanship in things that are made to last.
Meet wheelwrights, chairmakers, bookbinders and coopers. Blacksmiths, toolmakers and saddlers will demonstrate alongside whip plaiters, enamelers, carriage painters and shoemakers. The fair attracts traditional artisans from across Australia and is one of the most authentic events in the country showcasing the art of handmade.

Unleash the Beast Writing and Wellbeing Symposium – Wednesday 10 October
A first of its kind for Toowoomba, this is a writing event celebrating creativity and shining a light on mental health. Held to support Lifeline Darling Downs it’ll be part writers’ festival, part market, part symposium. From 7am to 6.30pm speakers such as Ray Martin, Mia Freedman, Peter FitzSimons, Tick Everett, Jacinta Tynan and Samantha Heathwood will be holding court and creating conversations about mental health.
There are some side events happening too, including a cooking class at The Sauce Kitchen with Emma Ellice-Flint and a Mort and Co Lads’ Lunch at Fitzy’s with Peter FitzSimons and Samantha Heathwood.

Handling the Outback bike ride – Friday 12 to Sunday 14 October
Feel like going for a ride? This incredible event sounds so fun and will benefit our local BreastScreen service, with all funds raised going towards purchasing a new 3D Ultrasound for the BreastScreen Queensland Toowoomba Service and to upgrade their existing 2D Ultrasound to 3D software.
This two-day bike ride adventure from Toowoomba to Gordon Country and back again enjoying the scenery, a weekend of fun and support women right here in our region.

The Bavarian Oktoberfest – Saturday 13 October
Calling all Toowoomba locals and Oktoberfest enthusiasts! The Bavarian Toowoomba is adding something extra special to its five-week calendar of Oktoberfest celebrations.
In addition to its line-up of special Oktoberfest menus, limited-edition Oktoberfest biers, fun foodie challenges, and the chance to win a trip to Munich, The Bavarian Toowoomba will host an exclusive Oktoberfest party on Saturday, 13 October.

Dîner en Blanc – Saturday 20 October
Dîner en Blanc will be held for the first time in Toowoomba on Saturday 20 October. Thirty years ago Frenchman François Pasquier had returned home from aboard and wanted to catch up with friends. He had so many people he wanted to see, he asked them to come to the Bois de Boulogne park, and to dress all in white so they could find one another.
This elegant picnic-in-the park is now a worldwide annual event, and it’s our first time hosting it! Part of the fun is everyone dresses in white and the location is kept secret until the night.

Outdoor movies at the TAFE – Saturday 20 October
A new family-friendly ongoing event will include a DJ, jumping castle, face painting, and like the title says, a movie. Movie will be chosen by poll so check out the Facebook page for the details. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children 1-13 and it’s $40 for a family ticket.
Toowoomba Night of Horrors – Saturday 27 October
Get into the Halloween spirit with this spooky event at the Toowoomba Showgrounds. Get all freaked out in a maze, enjoy a ride or just grab a snack. Follow the fun on Facebook.
