There’s a massive night in music coming up for Toowoomba and TheGRID Sound as former alt-rock act Interim return home to launch their new EP Metanarratives next Friday night (21 August).
Formed during their Toowoomba high school days, the past four years have seen Interim transform their distinctive brand of rock from garage grunge to a more sophisticated, layered, blues influenced alternative style.
Metanarratives contains five carefully constructed tracks centred around telling stories and building tension for the listener. There’s a distinctly 90s grunge element to their sound and overall aesthetic, especially in lead singer Alec Snow’s moody vocals.
A video clip for newest single Jack has just been released, while previous single She’s the Devil earned attention on Triple J Unearthed. Now based out of Sydney, where Home and Away actor Snow is based, the band has earned a reputation for high energy, hypnotic performances.
Joining Interim at TheGRID on Friday 21 August are local rock scene stalwarts Project 62, The Astronaut Headdress and up and comers The American Frauds.
Doors open at 8pm and tickets are $10 at the door. This is an all-ages show with a cash bar available for those with ID. Numbers are limited so arrive early to ensure you don’t miss out.
